Finally the rain lets up. We take a sunset walk across the bridge onto Puget Island. So wonderful to be in the sunshine.

We get a slow start to our day, dealing with internet and data packages issues. We spend the rest of the day following back roads, avoiding nearby highway 5. We see “Eggs for Sale”, make a stop.

We come away with eggs, pulled from the coop, apples bigger than I have ever seen, a jar of honey and some fun stories.

The small towns are a step back in time with their old somewhat dilapidated facades. They have such character. Always interesting sights and picture opportunities off the beaten path. Mt St. Helen in the background of the barn.

You don’t have to leave the country to find yourself in a different world. Traveling is an effective way to keep an open mind, expanding our outlook on people and lifestyle differences. These experiences broaden our perspectives. Traveling can put us in situations outside our normal comfort zones. How often we make instant judgments with very little data.

We were tired and ready to be done for the night. We boondocked in Chehalis in front of “Pam and Ray’s” house. Scanning the streets in the neighborhood, Ray and Pam were the first people we encountered outside so that we could ask about parking in front of their house. We always ask permission to park when boondocking in the city. They were the sweetest people ever and were extremely welcoming to us.

This is corn coming out of the side of the building. I was fascinated. We assumed it was feed corn for farm animals, with the quantity, method of tossing them around, and placement all over the ground. Nope, frozen food company. Makes me rethink frozen corn!

Next a visit with new found family members…………………..
Okay the corn thing raised both my eyebrows!
So true… easy to make snap judgements which, when taking the time and patience to learn more, are different than we assume. Thanks for the reminder.
