Oregon

Time to pull out a new map. Yes, I have Michelin maps for each state. They are full of useful information for camping, fishing, points of interest and, navigational tools. They are especially useful when GPS is not functioning on the back roads and areas with no signal. I have always loved paper maps.

Here we are hanging with the big boys in Brookings Oregon. It seems some RV parks are not particularly welcoming of the smaller “camper/van” type of vehicles. We had to talk our way into being able to stay. The majority of the RV’s here are 30 to 35 feet with pop outs and all kinds of amenities. We learned from one couple, in addition to a washer and dryer, they have a fireplace in their RV!

We shopped the local farmers market to restock our fresh fruits and veggies. There was a vendor selling fresh organic dairy and we replenished our half and half and yogurt. At the local fish store we bought fresh calamari steaks one night and rock fish the next, making tacos in our little camper with our own fresh made tortillas. We were able to do all our errands and exploring on bikes.

We are one block from the beach and harbor. We are staying a couple of days in order to catch up on work with the good internet in this RV park.

Continuing north along the Oregon coast.
