Day Tripping Baylands Park – Sunnyvale

Baylands Park is an optimal access point to the expansive trails of the Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge/San Francisco Bay Trail. This network of trails currently boasting over 300 miles of hiking/biking paths with plans to extend to 500 miles, connecting 47 cities, 130 parks, and crossing seven toll bridges.  It extends from the tip of the south end of the bay in Alviso into the very north point of the bay in Napa.

This is our compact little camper (in case you haven’t seen it before). We have aptly named it CasaGiro, loosely translated from Italian as “house on the go”. We absolutely love our Four Wheel pop-up camper. For us it is truly glamping; with a comfy bed, heating, solar fridge, and well supplied little kitchen to include a hand coffee bean grinder for truly fresh coffee! We do enjoy cooking, even when on the road. We have maximized the storage, added a bike rack, solar panels on the roof, and extra power with a cellular signal booster to facilitate working on the road.

Out on the SF Bay. This pathway is similar to the Alviso trail we explored last time out;  flat, well compacted, easy to ride trails. The bird life is quite impressive.

I caught this guy swallowing a fish

And this one in flight

We spent the day riding and came back to Casagiro for a delicious lunch and a bit of relaxation before heading home.
