Well, we did say we were going to another country! I know this is not Europe. But what I mean is I really know this is not Europe! However this is our first stop for two days.
Houston, Texas!
Here we are in a country that we have never been before, and although they speak the same language, we still cannot understand what is being spoken at times.
Y’know, there’s sum good stuff down’ere in Houston. Cum’on down! So we did! In spite of what we heard about this city, we really were impressed with the little bit that we could see in less than two days.
Y’got your skyscrapers,
Y’got your parks and paths,
And there’s also some art,
We had heard from several people, including some who had lived here for a lot of years, that Houston was ugly and not really a nice place to visit. Well, we don’t think that is quite true. We found the people to be genuine and extremely nice, and the whole downtown area to be quite enjoyable.
However now you can know the real reason for coming to Houston,
BASEBALL!
It is one of the items on Gary’s bucket list, to see a game in each of the stadiums of Major League Baseball. So now you know why we added this other ‘country’ to this trip.
