and then the rain……..
and the wind……
Just over the bridge from Astoria, we now sit watching the 49ers game in our camper while the rain beats on the roof and the wind rocks us around. We got settled in just before the storm hits.

In the morning we are able to take a walk to a nearby historical Native American site, before we are driven back inside by the rain. It is not so much the rain, although it rains very hard in Washington, but also the strong wind that makes it challenging to want to walk around. In addition, we are right on the highway, not the most appealing for walking. Inside the camper everything gets a bit damp after no sun for days. We are cozy and warm.

Or next goal is to head into the Olympia National Forest, but we delay the plan to wait out the rains. We need to move on to somewhere, so we first head back into Astoria to stock up on groceries. And then take a loop along the Columbia River on the Oregon side crossing back over into Washington. The Columbia River is breathtaking both in it’s beauty and it’s size.

We found a marina RV Park along the river in a small town. Places to walk nearby when there is a break in the rain. The winds have died down, and the rain has lightened. We can get out and explore. This RV park is quiet and beautiful.

While doing the dishes the faucet handle broke off. Hum, no way to turn on the water. Fortunately, Gary’s plumbing skills pay off. We had to remove everything from the cabinet. Tight quarters. He pulled it all apart and fixed it.

We are ready to move on again.
