Leaving the peaceful, slightly smoky, redwoods we travel north towards Eureka.
Stopping along the way to have some fun.
Not very exciting Post Offices.
We picnicked in Fortuna. The most notable sight in Fortuna was the multitude of flags. Comments?

We deviate from the main highway to the little town of Ferndale, where we are told, there are more cows than people.
What an incredible cute town. The downtown main street, only a couple blocks long, is full of artsy type shops, beautifully painted buildings, and especially friendly people. It was like stepping back in time.
The inside of the post office is all wooden.
Traffic in Ferndale…… and Everyone waves!!
Here is the details of the flags. They are “mostly” flying in honor of those who lost their lives in 9-11.
This was my favorite.
We boondock for the night in Ferndale. Will we make it to Eureka tomorrow? Follow us and find out.
