Well, we are off and running on our trip to Europe to visit family and friends in Italy and France!

But first I thought I’d share with you a picture of Nancy & I with a city councilman from Sestri Levante (my Italian family hometown). This was a fortuitous meeting the day before we are to leave on this trip. His name is Luca Ciotoli. And he is in Santa Cruz to promote the exchange of Italian immigrant families here to connect with their families back in Sestri Levante. It was a unique experience for us, and one we would like to encourage all our friends to look into. Connecting with your relatives that you have never known before can be quite fulfilling.
Anyway, on to London! This is where we flew into,

We again got to fly business class, as is our desire. We have acquired a new American Express Platinum card that gives us access to airport lounges and other travel perks.
So………………….we visited some lounges in SFO,
There is the Centurion lounge that is an American Express lounge, the Air France lounge, and the British Air lounge from our tickets.
Oh, and then I need to mention the restaurants that give us, $28 each credit for dining,

The San Francisco Giants clubhouse,
And the Yankee Pier,

This is where we decided to have a bite.

Just a wee lobster sandwich, and a wonderful kale salad, and a glass of wine for the price of the tip!
Nancy really likes to show off the new Platinum card!

I don’t know if y’all noticed but both Nancy and I are in short sleeves the whole time while in London. We just had a over night stay, but the weather was quite warm. We had brought jackets and sweaters in anticipation of the typical cold and dreary weather. I guess you never know what the weather will be like these days, even in London. Maybe we’ll get to use that gear later in the trip.

Well that is all for now, we are just getting started, and next you will be seeing us in Palermo, Sicily.
Hope you stay tuned!
