We’re off on our next journey. We hope to make it to the Going to the Sun Highway in upper Montana. But first is our own California.

We spent our first night in campgrounds at Donner summit.

This was a little side lake on our way and it is really one of the last of California we’ll see for a while.
Then,

We were off and running into our 2nd state of this trip. At first it wasn’t too bad,
Nevada just over the border
Some nice trees and a river. But soon we felt the boredom of driving through constant desert,
You had your desert with bush ——————- And you had your desert with salt, for miles, and miles and m-i-l-e-s ………………………… bleak and barren,
An occasional train,

And those darn overpasses for cattle.
There’s no roads on either side of those passes. Only desert!
Then we hit the city!
Well not exactly a city, or maybe not even a town. Does population 28 qualify perhaps as a village?
A village with a gas station/casino,
Oh, and did I mention the truckers church!
And where did they get that name, Puckerbrush?
Oh well, we stopped the second night at a rest stop along the salmon creek in northern Nevada. A fellow traveler decided to stay the night after we invited him for dinner. Ilan is 68 years old, and from Israel, traveling the western states alone on a motorcycle for 3 months. Tent camping. We can only hope to be as adventurous and as healthy at that age. This man shared some Israeli coffee with us after dinner that was quite smooth!

Last stop before leaving Nevada is Jackpot. A small town just for gambling over the border from Idaho. Makes sense for those in Idaho who want to gamble,
But we just drove on through,

Hope you’ll be with us for our next state in this journey!
